Treecreeper

From my Sunday afternoon walk: a treecreeper (Certhia familiaris).  It was flitting from tree to tree, walking up and down their trunks and poking into crevices.

Wood Pigeons

Two wood pigeons (Columba palumbus) in a tree in front of our kitchen window.  Initially the one on the left was grooming the one on the right.  After a while the one on the left lowered its head as if to allow the one on the right to do the same to it:

Goose in a Tree

An Egyptian goose (Alopochen aegyptiacus) perching in a tree.  Egyptian geese are unusual as geese go in that they sometimes perch, and even nest, in trees.  One year, probably back around the year 2000, our resident pair on the large lake nested at the top of the broken trunk of a tree that leaned out over the lake.  Normally they nest on the ground among the bushes on the island.
