Pheasant

A female pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) with a chick hiding in the long grass.

Moth

My first sighting of the rather spectacular and strange-looking Alabonia geoffrella (Lepidoptera: Oecophoridae).  It seems to have horns on its two-pronged snout.

Tachinid Fly

A Dexiosoma caninum (Diptera: Tachinidae).  I had not seen any of these so far this year but this Sunday the were lots of them in the Wilderness.
