Beetles

From last month: a couple of Cassida sp tortoise beetles, probably Cassida rubiginosa (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae).

Sawflies

A pair of Macrophya montana (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae) mating.  The males trail their white-banded hind legs behind them when they fly which makes them quite easy to recognise.

What I think is a male cucumber spider, Araniella cucurbatina.

A male Xyphosia miliaria (Diptera: Tephritidae) on a thistle head (Cirsium sp).
