Tachinid Flies

A pair of mating Tachinid flies, probably Phryno vetula (Diptera: Tachinidae). [Identification confirmed by Erikas 'neprisikiski' and by Chris Raper here at Diptera.info.]

This is a close-up of the front end of the female.  Being away from the colour-distortion field of the dandelion, it shows the colours much more clearly.

Moth

Found in long grass: a small moth, probably Grapholita jungiella (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae).  Some individuals of this species have no dark line down the centre of the white band on the wing; see here for instance.

Beetle

A ground beetle, probably Poecilus cupreus (Coleoptera: Carabidae).  The distinguishing feature of this species is the first 2 segments of the antennae being light brown.  I remember that the body looked distinctly bluish-black as it flew.
