« Plume Moth | Main | Cranefly »

A rove beetle, a Lordithon sp, probably Lordithon trinotatus (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae), standing on a mushroom.  One of  four species of Lordithon on the UK checklist, the other three being L. exoletus, L. lunulatus and L. thoracicus. All four seem to be reasonably common.

Photos taken in Whiteknights Park, Reading, UK, on 2012-11-08.
