Crust fungus

A pale peach crust fungus, possibly Eichleriella deglubens.  It shows some white hairs and a slight tendency to turn over (reflex) in the top of the above photo.

The tree it was growing on was fairly small and looked dead.  Some of its twigs had 'wings' giving them a cross-shaped cross section which suggests it might be an elm (Ulmus sp).

Wasp

A wasp that came in through our bedroom window in mid-December: probably a common wasp, Vespula vulgaris (Hymenoptera: Vespidae).  A female because if the elongated  first anntennal segment.  Probably also a worker because it wasn't noticably large, and also because the queens are not usually out and about until the spring-time.  There is a very good article on identifying the commoner UK wasps  here at Eakring Birds.

Polypore Fungus

A polypore fungus, probably Datronia mollis, the common mazegill.

The following shows a more extensive area of pores in more detail:

And the following shows how small the brackets are relative to the oak leaves on the ground:

Hoverfly

A female hoverfly: Volucella inanis (Diptera: Syrphidae).  With its broad yellow face this species mimics the hornet Vespa crabro.
