Wainscot Moth

A wainscot moth, Mythimna sp (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae).  Possibly Mythimna pallens, the common wainscot, but as there are quite a few Mythimna species that look like this, I won't attempt to narrow down the identification any further.  It was in long grass at the edge of a field.

Photo taken near Barnard Castle, County Durham, UK, on 2010-08-06.
