Dagger Fly (without a Dagger)

A dagger-less dagger fly, probably a Hilara sp, (Diptera: Empididae).  It could be a female, or it could be a male of a species that does not have swollen front tarsi.

Photos taken in Whiteknights Park, Reading University grounds, Reading, UK, on 2011-05-01.
