Black Flies

More black flies, this time distinctly matt black ones with three longitudinal ridges on the mesonotum and a flat scutellum.  Probably Minettia longipennis (Diptera: Lauxaniidae).

Photos taken in Whiteknights Park, Reading University grounds, Reading, UK, on 2009-07-19 and 2009-06-04.
