What I think is a male Anthomyia plurinotata (Diptera: Anthomyiidae). Identified by comparing the pattern on the top of the thorax with the patterns in this post at Diptera.info.
This is the second member of this species I have come across: in the spring of 2013 I photographed a female (see here).

A female Rhingia campestris (Diptera: Syrphidae). One of at least 8 of this species that I saw that day in two patches of nettles and dead-nettles.
