Tephritis bardanae (Diptera: Tephritidae), my first of the year. It was on a budock plant (Arctium sp) that was growing on the dam between the middle and lower lakes. The burdock leaves are already quite large but the flower heads have not started to come out yet.

Flowers of the guelder rose bush, Viburnum opulus. The large outer flowers are actually sterile and the smaller inner flowers were not yet open when this picture was taken.
The leaves are rather maple-like:

From last summer: a Tachinid fly that I found dead on a flower. Identified as Eurithia anthophila (Diptera: Tachinidae) by Chris Raper and Erikas 'neprisikiski' here at Diptera.info.
