Jelly Ear Fungus

From back in late autumn, just before the first cold spell of the winter: jelly ear fungus, Auricularia auricula-judae.

Hoverfly

Another hoverfly from our summer holiday up north: a female Syritta pipiens (Diptera: Syrphidae). I seem to remember that these were particularly common on the heather on the moors above Guisborough.

Yellow Disco Fungus

A yellow disco fungus, probably lemon disco fungus Bisporella citrina. According to Collins Complete Guide to British Mushrooms & Toadstools (Sterry and Hughes, 2009), the less common Bisporella subpallida is similar to B. citrina but has a duller, more subdued colour.
