Moth

Found in long grass: a small moth, probably Grapholita jungiella (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae).  Some individuals of this species have no dark line down the centre of the white band on the wing; see here for instance.

Beetle

A ground beetle, probably Poecilus cupreus (Coleoptera: Carabidae).  The distinguishing feature of this species is the first 2 segments of the antennae being light brown.  I remember that the body looked distinctly bluish-black as it flew.

A pied shieldbug, Tritomegas bicolor (Hemiptera: Cydnidae).

This was the first time I had ever seen this species, but I saw another one on each of my walks over the following 3 days.
