A female Cheilosia scutellata (Diptera: Syrphidae).  Apparently only the females have the yellow tip to the scutellum.

Bibionid Flies

A male Bibio sp with orangish legs: probably a Bibio johannis (Diptera: Bibionidae).  The first of a sequence of Bibio species that can be found over long grass during the spring.
