Hoverfly

Small dark hoverfly Neoascia podagrica (Diptera: Syrphidae). Identified using the key of Stubbs and Falk  (British Hoverflies, 2002).

Specimen taken in the field below Chazey Wood, near Caversham, UK, on 2014-04-13.
