Moth

A carpet moth, probably Epirrhoe alternata (Lepidoptera: Geometridae).  Whenever it settled it folded its wings up like this, which made it rather awkward to identify.

Photo taken in the field below Chazey Wood, near Caversham, UK, on 2014-04-21.
