Tachinid Fly

A Tachinid fly: Gymnocheta viridis (Diptera: Tachinidae).  Often seen sunning themselves on tree trunks in the early spring.

Specimen taken in the field below Chazey Wood, near Caversham, UK, on 2014-03-30.
