Damselfly

From back in early summer: a male banded demoiselle, Calopteryx splendens (Odonata: Calopterigidae).  The body of the female is metallic green.  I saw several of these during the summer but this was the only time that I got anywhere near to one of them.

Photo taken in Whiteknights Park, Reading University grounds, Reading, UK, on 2010-06-09.
