Canada Goose

A Canada goose, Branta canadensis, nesting beside the large lake.

Nuthatch

A nuthatch, Sitta europaea.  My first in several years.

The following day I saw one from our bedroom window.

Deer

A muntjac deer, Muntiacus reevesi, one of two which were being stalked by a fox.  I first saw the fox and only noticed the deer when they were startled by some people with a dog.  This is the first time I have seen deer in Whiteknights Park though I have long suspected - and have been told - that there were some there.

Blowfly

Another female blowfly, this time probably a Protocalliphora azurea (Diptera: Calliphoridae).
