A female Lauxaniid fly, probably Minettia longipennis (Diptera: Lauxaniidae). The white elongated object looks like a fly egg but I'm not sure if it had just been laid by this fly.

Tachinid fly Mintho rufiventris (Diptera: Tachinidae). This species is very similar to Eriothrix rufomaculata (they both have reddish patches on the sides of the abdomen) but M. rufiventris has two longitudinal black stripes on its upper thorax, both broad, while E. rufomaculata has four black stripes: two broad and two narrow (see here for more differences).

A hoverfly of genus Xylota, probably Xylota segnis (Diptera: Syrphidae) because you can just see through the wings that the front two-thirds of the abdomen is yellow. Xylota tarda is similar to X. segnis but slightly smaller and is not as common. Most other British Xylota have darker abdomens.
Xylota segnis are not a great fliers. You are more likely to see them scrambling over leaves. I have never seen one hover.

What I think is a slime mould, probably Mucilago crustacea. The white blobs are newly-forming sporangia.
Within a metre of the above I came the following, which I take to be a more mature form of the same species in which the sporangia have burst and released their spores:
