Moths

A middle-barred minor moth, Oligia fasciuncula (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) on hemlock water dropwort (Oenanthe crocata).

Tephritid Fly

A small yellow fly, probably a male Terellia winthemi (Diptera: Tephritidae), on a thistle.

Moth

A 5-spot burnet moth, Zygaena trifolii (Lepidoptera: Zygaenidae).  The following image shows that each forewing has 5 red spots:

In the 6-spot burnet moth, Zygaena fillipendulae, the spot nearest the wing-tip is double.

Soldier Fly

A female solderfly, Chloromyia formosa (Diptera: Stratiomyidae).  In the females of this species the abdomen is blue-green while in the males it is a coppery-green or gold colour (see halfway down this page for some good illustrations).

A small sawfly with antler-like antennae, probably a male Cladius pectinicornis = Cladius difformis?(Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae).
