From a couple of summers ago: a female Ichneumon wasp (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) injecting an egg into the stem of a knapweed plant (Centaurea sp), presumably onto some host larva hiding there.

Eristalinus sepulchralis (Diptera: Syrphidae). One of two I saw feeding on hemlock water dropwort (Oenanthe crocata) on the dam at the lower end of the large lake.
