Ant-Mimic Wasp

A wingless wasp that mimics an ant: probably a female Gelis sp (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae).  There are about 70 species of Gelis on the UK checklist (see here) so I don't hold out much hope for determining the species.

Tephritid Fly

A male Tephritis vespertina (Diptera: Tephritidae).  Another first for me.  The wing tips are mostly black.  The larvae are known to feed on various dandelion-like plants such as cat's ear (Hypochaeris radicata), hawk's beard (Crepis sp), and bristly ox-tongue (Picris echiodes).
