Rhopalid Bug

Sun 2011-01-09 A black fungus, probably Exidia glandulosa, on a twig of a fallen oak tree. Exidia nigricans (= Exidia plana) is similar but, according to Wikipedia, tends to be more coalesced into a single amorphous mass.

Thu 2011-01-06 An eyelash fungus, a Scutellinia sp., probably Scutellinia scutellata. They are called eyelash fungi because of the small hairs around their edges.
