Another Scorpion Fly

This time a female scorpion fly, Panorpa sp (Mecoptera: Panorpidae).  Instead of the bulbous red 'sting' of the males, the females just have a tapered red tip to their abdomen.

Scorpion Fly

A male scorpion fly, Panorpa sp (Mecoptera: Panorpidae).  The large red 'sting' is a characteristic of male scorpion flies.
