Damsel Bug

A damsel bug, probably the common damsel bug Nabis rugosus (Hemiptera: Nabidae).  In this species of damsel bug the wings do not quite reach the end of the abdomen.

Barkfly

A barkfly, probably Ectopsocus petersi (Psocoptera: Ectopsocidae), on a leaf of a poplar tree (Populus sp).

Hoverfly

A metallic dark green hoverfly, probably a female Melanogaster sp (Diptera: Syrphidae).  Initially I thought it was Lejogaster metallina but Roger Morris corrected me (see in the comments below).

Moth

A small, at first sight drab brown, moth but which on closer inspection shows fine gold pattern on its wings.   Probably a Dichrorampha sp, possibly Dichrorampha plumbana (Diptera: Tortricidae), the larvae of which develop on the roots of ox-eye daisies (Leucanthemum vulgare) and yarrow (Achillea millefolium) both of which are common in the area it was found.
