Hoverfly
From about this time last year: a male Cheilosia sp (Diptera: Syrphidae).
This fly was trapped in Whiteknights Park, Reading, UK, on 2012-08-31 and photographed later that day before being released again.

A caterpillar of the vapourer moth Orgyia antiqua (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae). Easily recognised by the four 'shaving brushes' on its back.

What I think is a male Ichneumon sarcitorius (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae). In the females the abdomen is red, black and white instead of just black and white.
I trapped this specimen and took the following photos later at home before releasing it again.
Notice that the wing tips are rather crumpled, as if they had not yet completely inflated. In spite of this the wasp could fly perfectly well.

What I think is a male Stomorhina lunata (Diptera: Calliphoridae). My first sighting of this species with its rather striking striped eyes:

Prosena siberita (Diptera: Tachinidae), a Tachinid fly with a long proboscis.
Its larvae parasitize scarab beetles.
After taking the above photos I trapped the fly, took it back home and took the several more photos, including the following one, before releasing it again.
